Pas refutes claim party to quit Selangor state government

SHAH ALAM: Selangor Pas today has denied that the party was planning to pull out all its assemblymen from the state government if three of its exco members were forced to quit their posts.

This followed a report published by an English daily that Pas had made the decision on Tuesday evening, during a meeting attended by all of the state's party division leaders.

Newly-minted state Pas commissioner Sallehen Mukhyi when contacted via WhatsApp this morning said the report was "untrue".

"I denied the statement. Selangor Pas did not discuss or made a decision on issues related to calls to quit the Selangor government.

"Instead, the meeting decided that the three exco members and 10 state assemblymen to continue serving the state government for the sake of the people." he said.

The daily had quoted a party insider, confirming that the meeting had taken place on Tuesday.

The report claimed that the Selangor state government was in a crisis as the state Pas had threatened to pull out all its assemblymen should Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali caves in to pressure from other Pakatan Harapan partners to isolate Pas.
