BN, DAP reps get thrown out of Penang state assembly after shouting match

GEORGE TOWN: Two state assemblymen have been ordered by State Speaker Datuk Law Choo Kiang to leave the August house today for failure to adhere to state legislative assembly sitting ruling.

Law ordered Datuk Shah Headan Ayoob Hussain Shah (Barisan Nasional - Teluk Bahang) and R.S.N. Rayer (DAP - Seri Delima) to leave after both were engaged in a verbal war after Rayer had apparently said that "BN ambil wanita sebagai objek seks" (BN takes women as sex object).

Shah Headan then stood up and demanded Rayer to retract his statement when Datuk Mohd Salleh Man (Pas - Permatang Pasir) was debating the motion of thanks to Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas' opening speech last Friday.

"Tarik balik, tarik balik (retract, retract)," Shah Headan was heard shouting at Rayer.

However, the DAP lawmaker declined, leading to an ensuing shouting match.

This prompted Law to order both the assemblymen to leave the house.

State opposition leader Datuk Jahara Hamid (BN - Teluk Air Tawar) then stood up and questioned why Shah Headan should be ordered out of the house.

Law then called for order in the house.

Speaking to newsmen outside the house, Shah Headan said it was unfair to order him out of the house.

"Why should I be asked to leave when I did nothing wrong?

"How can Rayer said BN takes woman as sex object? This is rude and not right.

"I have a mother, wife and daughter myself. I also have women voters. There is no way we take them as sex object." he added.
