Hold 'Nothing To Hide' forum among yourselves first, Umno Youth tells Pakatan Harapan

Kuala Lumpur: Pakatan Harapan leaders have been told to put their house in order first before pointing fingers at other and hold the 'Nothing To Hide 2.0' forum among its coalition parties.

Federal Territory Umno Youth chief Razlan Rafii said the forum should be held internally among the Pakatan Harapan members in order to question Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad over the losses in the forex scandal which involved Bank Negara Malaysia in the 1990s.

He said this should have been done before Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia Youth (Armada) considered inviting Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak or Umno to debate in the event which the coalition has planned on Aug 13.

“Dr Mahathir must first answer questions about the foreign exchange (forex) scandal. (This is because) Umno never accused him of stealing.”

“Those who accused him all this while are now his friends. So they should be the ones holding their own 'Nothing to Hide-type' forum.”

“Call (Parti Amanah Negara president) Mat Sabu (Mohamad Sabu), (Datuk Seri) Anwar Ibrahim, (DAP adviser) Lim Kit Siang to sit together and question Dr Mahathir who they previously called a thief," added Razlan, who also indicated that the proposed Royal Commission of Inquiry was meant to plug loopholes within the system and gauge whether there was element of abuse of power.

Razlan also shot down critics’ who claimed that Dr Mahathir’s role in the scandal was similar to Najib’s role in 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) controversy.

He added that Pakatan leaders had previously questioned Dr Mahathir over his role in the forex scandal, as well as the source of his children's wealth.
