PKR's Zuraida Kamaruddin willing to be probed by MACC

PUTRAJAYA: PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin is ready to be probed by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) amid allegations that she abused her power as member of parliament,

But no one from the graft-buster has called her up, she said.

“There have been a few reports against me, but MACC hasn’t summoned me yet.

“If they need to call me in, please communicate with me and contact me,” Zuraida told reporters outside MACC headquarters after handing over supporting documents that she claimed could help PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in his court battle against sodomy charges.

Present were PKR vice-presidents Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin and Dr Xavier Jayakumar.

In July, non-profit organisation Pertubuhan Inspirasi Melayu Gombak lodged a report to MACC, claiming that it had acquired documents that proved Zuraida was a middle person in mediating unsettled debt owed by a private company to Yayasan Selangor, estimated to be around RM234,000.

There were also demands for the Ampang MP to be investigated after Ampang PKR Youth chief Datuk Adam Rosly was charged with six counts of providing authorities with forged documents and false statements on his wealth, amounting to RM1 million and a few luxury cars.

Sungai Besar Umno division chief Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos even claimed that he had new evidence against Zuraida.

“I have submitted the evidence to MACC and urged them to investigate Zuraida,” Jamal said, adding that he had been checking on her since November last year.
