Free scrumptious delicacies for all at PWTC

KUALA LUMPUR: IF you are hungry and looking for free scrumptious food, look no further than the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC).

In conjunction with the 2017 Umno General Assembly, a wide variety of food is being offered - free of charge.

Delicacies include the likes of Nasi Lemak Royale, Nasi Kerabu, Pizza, Chicken Rice, Italian food, roasted chicken, burger as well as local favourites such as bubur kacang and cendol.

As of today, there are 25 food trucks serving the delicious food and each truck can cater up to 600 people from 12.30 in the afternoon to 5pm.

Located at Level 4 of Plaza Merdeka at PWTC, the "free meals" programme was launched by Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor and it will end on Saturday evening.

One vendor, Azman Ismail from Kocai Delicious Foodtruck who serves bubur kacang expressed delight over Umno's initiative of providing free meals for all.

"Today we have 25 food trucks. For tomorrow and Saturday, there will be 12 food trucks. Each of us will be serving at least one lunch menu a day and another for evening tea.

"Evening tea will start at 3pm," he told the New Straits Times here today.

Long queues can be seen at several food trucks here while others enjoying their Nasi Lemak and ice cream under the hot sun.

Among the visitors was 57 year-old Rokiah Senin who came with her group of friends from Melaka.

Rokiah who was chilling while enjoying her Cendol under a parasol said she was spoiled by the variety of choices.

"I had mee goreng mamak earlier after finished listening to the party President Datuk Seri Najib Razak's speech. Now I am enjoying the Cendol.

“I consider most of the food here as "luxurious"," she added.

Another visitor, Sulaiman Md Napis, 56, said he was having a difficult time choosing the food as "there's just too many to choose from".

"This definitely cater to everyone's taste buds. I got my eyes on the Kedah Chicken Rice. This is amazing because everything here is free!" he said cheerfully.
