KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Selangor Wanita Umno division has lodged a police report against Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad for allegedly trying to topple Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak through an undemocratic means.
Its chief Dr Zahrah A. Kadir said there were various statements issued by Dr Mahathir which appeared to be attempts to influence the people to topple Najib.
“Statements by Dr Mahathir on social media, blog and print media were mainly aimed at attacking Najib and the government.
“His action is none other than trying to sow the seeds of hatred among the people towards the government,” she said.
Zahrah said Wanita Umno was worried that Dr Mahathir’s action would disturb political stability and national security.
“Furthermore, Dr Mahathir has openly co-operate with several other political parties to hurl accusations at Najib and the government, to divide the people.
“We call on the police to investigate this matter to stop Dr Mahathir from continuing to do so,” she said.
