Go on and probe me for slander, says Chegubard on Azmin exposé

SHAH ALAM: Ex-PKR member Badrul Hisham Shaharin is willing to be investigated for alleged slander and says he has nothing to fear over his alleged exposè against Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali at a Facebook live session on Jan 9.

Badrul Hisham, better known as Chegu Bard, claimed he was only stating facts when he spoke on Azmin’s alleged wrongdoings which also implicated the latter’s wife, Datin Seri Shamsidar Taharin.

Chegu Bard, in his FB live session, had touched on supposed investigation papers against Azmin by the then Anti-Corruption Agency in 1996, the existence of RM7.2 million and shares in Shamsidar’s bank account in 1995, as well as dubious cost involved in the revamp of the Kota Darul Ehsan arch.

“What I exposed was based on facts. The existence of RM7.2 million, apart from shares, properties and vehicles clearly did not match Azmin’s salary and that of his wife then.

“What I revealed, however, were met with police reports, which stated that I was being insolent towards the Selangor palace when I brought up the issue of the palace and Azmin, especially on the absurd cost of the Kota Darul Ehsan arch project.

“However, I must stress that it was not I who had described the cost of the Kota Darul Ehsan arch project as ‘absurd’. I based it from an official statement made by Taman Medan assemblyman Haniza Talha,” said Badrul Hisham outside the Shah Alam district police headquarters.

He was summoned to have his statement recorded after at least three police reports were lodged against him over his remarks during the FB live session.

Badrul Hisham entered the police headquarters at about 11.30am and emerged two hours later.
