Najib: Motorcyclists on Penang Bridge need not pay toll if BN wins [NSTTV]

BALIK PULAU: Motorcyclists plying the Penang Bridge will be exempted from paying toll if Barisan Nasional returns to power in Penang in the 14th general election.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said this would be included into BN’s national manifesto along with the 65,000 affordable housing promised before this.

“After discussing with state BN leaders, we have decided that motorcyclists plying the Penang Bridge will be exempted from paying toll if BN takes over Penang in the coming election.

“This will be included in the manifesto which was unveiled recently,” he said.

Motorcyclists now pays RM1.40 to use the Penang Bridge.

Meanwhile, Najib said the Federal government has spent about RM4 billion for various development projects in Penang in the past five years.

“There are many more projects planned for the state. We have never abandoned Penang even though it is under the opposition,” he added.

Najib also urged the people to evaluate for themselves BN’s performance and that of the opposition pact.

“I was told they had approved 39 hillslope projects between 2008 and 2017.

“BN had only approved four projects in five years under Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon,” he said.
