ALOR STAR: DAP’s announcement that Nga Kor Ming will be made a federal minister if Pakatan Harapan takes over Putrajaya shows who is the “big brother” in the opposition pact.
Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid said the announcement by DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng was clear proof that DAP was calling the shots.
Mahdzir said it showed that he was right when he said Pakatan’s Malay leaders were DAP’s puppets in its quest to achieve its dream of total control over the country’s political system.
“From the beginning, I have been saying that Pakatan Harapan is being controlled by DAP and Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is being used as a tool.
“That is why Lim Guan Eng announced that Nga Kor Ming will be appointed a federal minister. By right, the prime minister should be the one making the announcement,” he said after visiting Kolej Sultan Abdul Hamid here today.
The Education Minister was responding to Guan Eng’s pledge that Nga would be made a federal minister if he defeated Teluk Intan incumbent Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong.
An online portal reported that Lim said this when he revealed that Nga was the DAP candidate for Teluk Intan.
“To win Putrajaya, we must win seats, including those seats represented by a member of parliament who is also a minister.
“So, if we want to defeat him (Mah) we must send a credible minister (to contest for the seat), we must send a candidate who, when we win Putrajaya... DAP will appoint him a minister,” he said at a rally in Teluk Intan yesterday.
In a 2014 by-election, Mah, president of Gerakan, defeated DAP candidate Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud by a 238 majority.
The by-election was held following the death of Teluk Intan DAP MP Seah Leong Peng.
Mah has yet to be announced as the BN candidate for the constituency.
Mahdzir said Guang Eng and his father, DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang, would take advantage of just about anyone to achieve their goal.
“It does not matter whether it is Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Parti Amanah Negara president Mohamad Sabu or Dr Mahathir.
“Since 1965, Kit Siang has been hoping that DAP would form the government.”
On the opposition pact’s decision to use PKR’s symbol in GE14, he said it was meant to confuse Malay voters.
“DAP is not contesting under its rocket symbol because they are hoping that Malay voters will be confused and think they are voting for PKR.. This is what was agreed to by the Malay leaders who are DAP’s puppets.”
