Third PPBM ops centre in Kelantan shuts down

GUA MUSANG: Another Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s (PPBM) operations centre in the state has been shut down following protests against the candidate fielded to represent the party under PKR’s banner.

The PPBM operations centre here in Taman Titiwangsa is the third closed after Guchil and Tendong over similar protests.

Gua Musang PPBM division deputy chief Abdul Aziz Mohamad alleged grassroots were dismayed that their candidate Nasir Dollah, an orang asli activist, was picked by DAP to contest for the Galas state seat without consulting with the division.

Abdul Aziz said Nasir was not the preferred candidate among the PPBM division members there.

“We have worked hard for more than a year in preparation for the 14th general election. But it all became a waste when the party picked someone else (to run for Galas).

“And so, we decided to shut down the operations centre here in Taman Titiwangsa,” Abdul Aziz said when met here today.

It is learnt Nasir is now based in an office rented by DAP in Bandar Utama here.

Meanwhile, when contacted, Gua Musang PPBM division secretary Mohd Kamil Mustapha said voters would reject Nasir due to the absence of a machinery to assist him in the campaign.

“In fact, the operations centre in Taman Titiwangsa had not been functioning since the day before nomination day due to protests against Nasir.”
