BN candidate reminds Nurul Izzah it was DAP which stated it would reduce number of civil servants

SEBERANG JAYA: Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat Datuk Mohd Zaidi Mohd Said has slammed his PKR opponent, Nurul Izzah Anwar for claiming that BN was trying to create fear among the people by alleging that the opposition will reduce the number of civil servants once it comes into power.

He said it was a known fact that DAP had previously issued a statement that it wanted to reduce the number of civil servants in the country, and not something that was made up.

“They must realise that DAP has said it before...that they want to reduce the number of the civil servants.

“They even gave the reason that the number of the civil servants was too high and not functioning correctly,” he said.

Zaidi urged Nurul Izzah to look at the fate of civil servants in the state, noting that bonus was chopped by half for those who had taken certain number of days medical leave.

“This is an irresponsible act compared to what the Federal government did. They never reduced bonus just because the staff took medical leave,” he said.

Nurul Izzah, in a press conference at Yayasan Aman earlier today, claimed that BN was out to create fear among the people by alleging that the opposition would reduce the number of civil servants once it comes to power.

Meanwhile, Zaidi also commented on the decision by Penang PKR Youth chief Asrol Sani Abd Razak to quit the party earlier today.

He said that the act by Asrol Sani may reflect PKR’s principle, that the party was not able to discharge its responsibilities to the people as it should.

“We all know that the DAP-led government wants to control every decision made, while making other parties just a puppet,” he said after a meet and greet session with the Indian community at Seberang Jaya today.
