No Comment? Lim Kit Siang keeps mum on insults hurled by DAP leaders

ALOR STAR: DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang today walked out from the press members when he was asked to comment on alleged remarks by the party leaders insulting other races including the Malays.

The DAP advisor did not respond to the question and walked to his car after fielding a question from reporters on the party’s move to name its Cabinet Minister candidates should the opposition pact wins the 14th General Election (GE14).

Earlier, the DAP candidate for Iskandar Puteri parliamentary seat in Johor attended a gathering with some 80 DAP supporters at Jalan Telun Wanjah here.

Present were Parti Amanah Negara (PAN) vice president and Pokok Sena parliamentary seat incumbent Datuk Mahfuz Omar and Kedah DAP chairman Tan Koj Yew, who is also DAP incumbent for Derga state seat.

After the session, Lim was asked to comment on the two DAP candidates who would be made Cabinet ministers should they win their respective seats in GE14.

Lim reluctantly replied that it was just a suggestion.

“It was just a suggestion to represent our party, should we (the opposition pact) wins the GE14 and as a pact, of course we have our own candidates to be proposed as Cabinet ministers.

“It is just a suggestion as it is the prerogative of the prime minister,” he said.

However, when asked to comment on the remarks against other races allegedly uttered by DAP Teluk Intan parliamentary candidate Nga Kor Ming and former DAP Teluk Intan division chief, Hew Kuan Yau in their speech, Lim just kept mum and walked away from the reporters.

It was reported that Nga had allegedly uttered insulting remarks on Menteri Besar Perak, Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, while Hew had allegedly uttered insulting remarks that Malaysia was a chicken country and that Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang was a religious conman.

Prior to that, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng came under fire for naming Nga and Johor DAP chairman Liew Chin Tong, as the Cabinet ministers from the party should they win the Teluk Intan and Ayer Hitam parliamentary seats.

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) deputy president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir however confirmed that the four-party pact has not discussed on the Cabinet ministers candidates and said it was too early to have such discussion.
