Guan Eng denies DAP's alleged involvement in propaganda attack

ALOR STAR: DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng today denied the party’s alleged involvement in a plot to distribute malicious propaganda against the government and Barisan Nasional (BN) ahead of the 14th General Election (GE14).

In a short reply to reporters during his campaign trail at Flat Setia Jaya here, Guan Eng denied that the party has anything to do with the plot as claimed by his former special officer Amran Ahmad.

“He is not my special officer and the report is not true,” he told the press before leaving the venue in a haste.

DAP is facing an investigation by the police following the allegations made by the Amran, an assistant producer with DAP official online television, UbahTV.

Amran claimed that DAP was plotting to distribute tens of thousands of videos and pamphlets containing slanderous allegations against Barisan Nasional and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

On Saturday, Amran told a press conference that the “malicious” propaganda materials would be disseminated in stages ahead of the Wednesday polling day.

Amran had also claimed that among the materials that were being distributed included issues on 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), GST, Felda, Tabung Haji and other matters pertaining to government agencies, the economy, expressway concessionaires and government projects.
