The people will make better judgement on GE14

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysians are now able to make a better judgment on which party will make a better government, said special officer to the Prime Minister, Isham Jalil.

Isham believes that Barisan Nasional (BN) would have a better chance of winning in Selangor following the changes in the country’s political scene.

“Perhaps, during the 12th and 13th General Elections, the people were not able to evaluate the performance of the Selangor state government (PKR).

“However, after 10 years, the people can now see whether they (PKR) were doing their job or not,” he said.

Isham stressed that the PKR Selangor state government had failed to resolve issues of basic needs such as clean water supply and waste management, which had been affecting the people even after governing the state for two terms.

“So how are they going to resolve more complex issues such as the rising cost of living?

“The people can judge that they are not doing their job, yet are imposing high assessment tax,” he said.

Isham added that PKR’s failure to resolve the Selangor state’s clean water supply and waste management issues also reflected its failure to deliver its promise to the people to be transparent, accountable and competent.

He said that there were cases of corruption involving the Selangor state government just like what happened in Penang.

“There are elements of intransparency in the issue of clean water supply,” he added.

Isham said the people should be able to realise that BN had managed to fulfil nearly all of its promises compared to the opposition.
