DAP's Dr Boo gets death threat for criticising Kit Siang

JOHOR BARU: DAP’s former Skudai assemblyman Dr Boo Cheng Hau was subjected to a death threat following his criticism of the party’s leadership.

It is learnt that a piece of paper was thrown into the compound of his house in Taman Universiti, together with a bottle with red paint and stones on Tuesday evening.

The letter, written in Chinese, read: “Brother Boo (Dr Boo), you were not selected as a candidate so stop making noise. Don’t disturb Uncle Lim and you be quiet. Today, you are sent an empty bottle; tomorrow, we will send a bottle with contents inside. Wait until tomorrow, last warning.”

It is understood that Uncle Lim refers to DAP senior adviser Lim Kit Siang.

Dr Boo, when contacted, declined comment and said he has lodged a police report.

Johor Baru North police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Taib Ahmad confirmed that the report and said the case has been referred to the Johor police headquarters for further action.

Dr Boo, a two-term Skudai assemblyman, was dropped as a candidate for the seat and was replaced by Mengkibol incumbent assemblyman Tan Hong Ping.

Dr Boo has been vocal in his criticism of Lim and other party leaders. Last month, he accused them of being unfair to him for offering to place him to contest the Labis parliamentary seat, a move which he claimed was rejected by other party members.
