JOHOR: Opposition sweeps clean Pulai, wins Perling and Kempas

JOHOR BARU: The Opposition made a clean sweep of the Pulai constituency, winning the parliament and two state seats.

Deputy Home Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed lost the Pulai parliament seat to PKR candidate Salahuddin Ayub by a whopping 28,924 vote majority when he secured only 26,523 votes against Salahuddin’s 55,447 votes.

Two other candidates PAS’ Mohad Mazri Yahya only managed 4,332 votes and Independent candidate Yap Keng Tak 591 votes. Both candidates lost their deposits.

PKR also won the Perling state seat when its candidate Cheo Yee How garnered 32,592 votes against BN candidate, Wong You Fong, who is also the Johor MCA chief, who secured 13,059 votes while PAS candidate, Muhamad Nazrin Ihsan, lost his deposit when he received only 5,890 votes.

Another PKR candidate Datuk Osman Sapian won the Kempas state seat with 21,137 votes against BN’s Datuk Ramlee Bohani who received 11,959 votes and PAS’ Dzulkifli Suleiman 2,321 votes.
