Osman Sapian is new Johor MB

JOHOR BARU: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia's (PPBM) Johor secretary, Datuk Osman Sapian has been sworn-in as the state's 16th Menteri Besar in the presence of the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar at Istana Bukit Serene, here, today.

Osman completed the swearing-in ceremony witnessed by Tunku Mahkota Johor, Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, and Dennis Muhammad Abdullah, husband of Tunku Tun Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Sultan Ibrahim.

Also present were President of Johor PKR Hassan Karim and state Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) President Aminolhuda Hassan.

According to the Sultan of Johor’s official Facebook (FB) page, in his address, he looked forward to working together and offer guidance to the Menteri Besar from time to time.

Sultan Ibrahim also reminded Osman to carry out his duty with integrity in ensuring the unity of Bangsa Johor.

Osman, 67, took office from his predessor Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin from Barisan Nasional (BN) as MB after Pakatan Harapan (PH) won 36 state seats in the 14th General Election (GE14).

Osman was previously Kempas assemblyman under BN before he was removed from the list in GE13.
