Azmin edges out Rafizi in Jelebu

KUALA KLAWANG: Incumbent PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali defended his post against contender Rafizi Ramli during the re-election of the party polls in Jelebu here.

Azmin, who is also Economic Affairs Minister, garnered 83 votes while Rafizi obtained 59 votes.

The re-election of the e-voting process for the Jelebu PKR branch was held at the D’Sury Hall here today after following technical glitches occurred during the initial voting process on Oct 20.

During the previous voting process, which was held at the Kampung Geylang Community Hall in Pertang, Rafizi was leading the race with 214 votes while Azmin closely trailing behind with 161 votes,

A total of 310 registered delegates at the branch was asked to exercise their rights during the re-election process for Julau PKR branch.

According to a PKR Central Election Committee worker, only 210 registered delegates turned up during the voting day, which ended at 2pm today.

Meanwhile, Yus Mazmi Mohd Yusof won the contest for the Julau PKR branch chief with 126 votes.

He defeated Mohamed Zabidi Abdullah, who polled 66 votes, for the post.
