'Instigators are trying to pit Bersatu leaders against each other'

PUTRAJAYA: Those trying to divide Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) from within have been described as “the damned” (lahanat) who should leave the party.

Bersatu‘s Armada (youth) deputy chief Muhammad Aizad Roslan said that these quarters are out to create all sorts of stories in order to create rifts within the party.

“I am warning these ‘lahanat’ within the party. Get out of the party if all you intend to do is create splits within.

“Armada only has one camp, which is Camp Armada. Do not instigate any splits within Bersatu.

“We wish to see and show that youths in Armada are capable of practicing mature politics,” he said.

He was speaking during the Armada wrapping-up speech at the Bersatu second annual general assembly here today.

Aizad took aim at those creating stories and reminded them that their positions should be put to good use, given that they have been entrusted with responsibility.

“Some are peddling stories that the deputy president, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, plans to go up against the president, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. There are also those who claim that I plan to go against Armada chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.

“Why should be ruin something that is working? Why is there a need to divide the party leadership? You’ve already been given a position, do your job instead of pitting people against one another,” he said.

He also cautioned division leaders against sidelining their respective Armada chiefs.

“I’m appealing to the division chiefs nationwide. I don’t understand why some division chiefs have a hatred for their Armada chiefs, who had worked tirelessly during the general election. Maybe they feel threatened,” he said,
