Cameron Highlands: MyPPP will appeal to RoS against de-registration - Kayveas

TANAH RATA: MyPPP will appeal to Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin within the next 30 days over its de-registration by the Registrar of Societies (RoS).

One of the two party faction’s president, Tan Sri M Kayveas confirmed that the party had received the Red Notice via email from the RoS.

The other MyPPP faction is headed by former Information, Communications and Culture deputy minister Datuk Seri Maglin Dennis D’Cruz.

“We have 30 days to make an appeal to the Home Minister

“The minister can decide whether to accept the RoS decision or make an amendment on the move or the minister can even state that he does not agree with such a decision.

“After we receive the minister’s decision, only then can we take the appropriate action,” Kayveas told reporters at a press conference at the MyPPP Cameron Highlands service centre, here today.

The RoS deregistered MyPPP effective Monday, due to leadership problems in the party.

The de-registration decision was made by RoS director Masyati Abang Ibrahim. A similar notice which was sent to Kayveas had also sent to D’Cruz.

Kayveas said the party has several options in the event the de-registration remained.

This includes reregistering a new MyPPP, register a new party or merge with another political party.

In April, Kayveas was ousted as MyPPP president and party member.

This was after he questioned a letter from then Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Mansor over seat allocations in the 14th General Election.

Following the May 9 election, Kayveas claimed he was still party president and declared that the party had instead quit BN.

However D'Cruz, claims to be the rightful party president and that the party is still with BN.
