RoS de-registers myPPP

PUTRAJAYA: The registration of myPPP has been cancelled by the Registrar of Societies (RoS), effective immediately.

Sources confirmed that an order notice regarding the de-registration of myPPP was issued by RoS director-general Masyati Abang Ibrahim.

The order notice was issued in accordance to Section 13 (1)(c)(ix) of the Societies Act 1966.

It was issued to both Tan Sri M. Kayveas and Datuk Seri Maglin Dennis D’Cruz, both of whom have laid claim to the myPPP presidency.

The D’Cruz faction of the party had begun a move which eventually saw Kayveas expelled from the party.

However, Kayveas has always maintained that he is the rightful president and declared that the party had left Barisan Nasional.

The party faction under D’Cruz, however, has stated that it is BN-friendly.

Late last year, the RoS had sent a notice to myPPP for them to sort out who were the rightful office-bearers.

As a settlement of the dispute has still to be reached, said a source, RoS had made the decision to de-register the party.

The order notice stated that the RoS had considered the matter and also the appeal submitted by the officers of the said party.

“The RoS is of the opinion that the appeal made does not provide enough reasons. In this respect, the said party as named here has been cancelled starting from the date of this notice (Jan 14, 2019),” it said.

Besides Kayveas and D’Cruz, the notice was also sent to the Insolvency Department, the police Special Branch and the Election Commission chairman.
