SERDANG: A Pakatan Harapan (PH) meeting will be called soon to discuss the by-election for the Tanjung Piai parliamentary seat in Johor.
This follows the death of its incumbent MP, Datuk Dr Md Farid Md Rafik, on Saturday.
PH president and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said this today after launching the Malaysian Research Institute on Ageing (MyAgeing) complex at Universiti Putra Malaysia here.
She expressed sadness over the death of Dr Farid, 42, who died at Hospital Pontian after suffering a heart attack.
He won the Tanjung Piai seat during the 14th General Election with a majority of 524 votes.
The Election Commission today announced that a meeting would be convened on Oct 1 to discuss important dates concerning the impending by-election. - BERNAMA
