'Saifuddin statement false, Zuraida yet to receive any missive from PKR'

KUALA LUMPUR: The political secretary to PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin said she has not received any letter or notice from the party.

Nor Hizwan Ahmad added that PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail should therefore not “manipulate” the current political situation.

In a statement, Nor Hizwan said Zuraida confirms that she has not received any notice or summons from the PKR secretary-general, as reported in the news.

“YB (Yang Berhormat) Zuraida Kamaruddin is outstation, and she confirms she has not received any notice or summons from Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution, as mentioned.

“The statement allegedly made (by Saifuddin) is false,” he said

Earlier today, Saifuddin said he will be suing Zuraida, whom he also said will be receiving a show-cause letter.

Saifuddin said the show-cause letter was issued by the party’s Disciplinary Board, and that he will sue Zuraida, in his personal capacity, over her making slanderous remarks against him.

“In addition to the letter issued by the Disciplinary Board, I have a summons, which is personal and has nothing to do with the party.

"The summons is on her speech which contained elements of slander against me," he said.

Asked if Zuraida had replied to the show-cause letter, Saifuddin said he was unaware of the latest developments, as the matter comes under the purview of the Disciplinary Board.

“I do not know whether she has submitted her reply to the show cause letter.

“What I am waiting for is a reply to the summons which has been sent to her,” he said.

On Jan 18, Zuraida, who is also Ampang MP, was given 14 days to respond to a show-cause letter issued to her on claims of disciplinary misconduct.
