2 more Bersatu leaders fired from their posts

KUALA LUMPUR: After months of infighting and a series of sacking, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has relieved another two members from their respective posts.

Former secretary-general Datuk Marzuki Yahya has been sacked as the Penang Bersatu chief and Akramsyah Muamar Ubaidah Sanusi is no longer a supreme council member.

This was made known to them by Muhyiddin in two letters sighted by the New Straits Times, addressed to both Marzuki and Akramsyah.

"I thank you and appreciate your contributions and services throughout your tenure in the post," read the letters to both men, signed by Muhyiddin.

The termination came after Muhyiddin "ended the memberships" of five Bersatu Members of Parliament including its founding members.

They are Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, Dr Maszlee Malik, Datuk Amiruddin Hamzah and Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.

Marzuki and Akramsyah have openly declared their loyalty to Dr Mahathir who recently submitted a motion of no confidence against Muhyiddin in the Dewan Rakyat.
