Sabah TYT mulling CM candidates proposed by GRS delegation

KUALA LUMPUR: Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin, Sabah Perikatan Nasional (PN) chief Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) secretary-general Datuk Jahid Jahim, and STAR chief Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan left the Istana Negeri Sabah at 3.20pm today.

The representatives of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) had an audience with the Yang di-Pertua Negeri (TYT) Tun Juhar Mahiruddin at 2.30pm today to discuss candidates for the Chief Ministerial position following the coalition's win in the 16th Sabah election yesterday.

Jahid said that documents were handed over to the TYT for his perusal.

It is believed that the documents are statutory declarations supporting PN's choice of Chief Minister.

"The process was smooth and it was a good discussion," he added.

As the delegation left Istana Negeri Sabah, Bung and Hajiji told reporters at the scene that the TYT is now weighing the candidates proposed to him, and will "need some time" to make his decision.

"He (Tun Juhar) has asked for some time, but it will be very soon," added Bung.
