IPOH: Perak DAP is prepared to work with any party, including Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN), to form the next state government.
Its chairman, Nga Kor Ming, said that in the best interest of the people, DAP Perak is ready to work with any party.
"We are willing to work with any party that can help to form a multiracial, strong and stable government.
"I am open to any constructive discussion. We are ready," he told the New Straits Times, today.
Earlier, Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he does not rule out the possibility of a new coalition forming the next Perak state government.
"We are looking at all possibilities. We would like to retain the previous state government (Perikatan Nasional) but if that can't be done, there might be a new coalition," he said.
Asked whether the new coalition would involve the state Pakatan Harapan (PH), Ahmad Zahid said it might happen, but the final outcome would depend on the decisions made by other political parties.
The Bagan Datuk Member of Parliament said this in a press conference outside Istana Kinta here, today.
Earlier, he had an audience with the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah.
Meanwhile, Perak PKR chairman, Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, said his party is also ready to work with Umno.
"Yes, we are ready for the benefit of the rakyat", he replied briefly.
On Saturday, three opposition leaders from Perak Pakatan Harapan (PH) had an audience with the Perak ruler. They are Nga, Farhash Wafa and Perak Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) chairman, Datuk Asmuni Awi.
Perak Umno chairman Datuk Saarani Mohamad was also seen at Istana Kinta yesterday.
The move to find the next Perak Menteri Besar and formation of a new state government gathered speed after Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu and his state executive councillors resigned on Saturday evening.
Ahmad Faizal's resignation came about after he lost the support of the majority of the state Legislative Assembly following a motion of confidence on Friday.
The Chenderiang assemblyman saw only 10 out of 59 assemblymen supporting him, with 48 voting against the motion, and one abstaining.
The motion was tabled by Pengkalan Baru assemblyman, Datuk Abdul Manaf Hashim and seconded by Temenggor assemblyman, Salbiah Mohamad and Pasir Pinji assemblyman, Howard Lee Chuan How.
