PKR polls: Farhash wants forensic audit on party voting process

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR vice-presidential candidate Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak has urged the party to conduct a forensic audit on the voting process.

This was after he claimed there were doubts over the transparency and truthfullness involved in the voting process.

He claimed to have firm evidence and documentation to express formal objections to the party's election results.

"After examining the unofficial results of the 2022 PKR Election issued by the Party Election Committee (JPP) just now, I would like to express doubts about the transparency and truthfulness of the results issued.

"I have firm evidence and documentation to express formal objections, with a call for the party to forensically audit the decision system and its implementation methods," he said in a statement posted in his Facebook account.

His doubts are against the results of physical voting as well as online voting.

"Where we found the results for the Gombak division were unreasonable, compared to the physical presence of our supporters as well as the online voting we recorded.

"A forensic report examining each online and physical voting should be conducted by an independent entity agreed by all parties," he said.

He hope that the JPP and the party leadership would take action and rectify the situation if it was proven that the electoral system and results had been compromised.

Based on the voting results in the Gombak division as published via www.pemilihankeadilan2022.com, Farhash lost the race.

He got 1,215 votes, compared to his opponent, namely Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amiruddin Shaari Amiruddin received 1,858 votes.

The Gombak PKR Division was held for the last three terms by former party deputy president Datuk Seri Mohd Azmin Ali, who since through the Sheraton Move quit the party and joined Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Farhash, who is also contesting for the PKR vice-president post, was placed second for the four positions available for the post.

Meanwhile, Amiruddin in a statement expressed his appreciation to Farhash for the healthy competition in the contest for the PKR Gombak Division's top post.

"I would also like to thank the JPP staff, who ensured that the election in the Gombak Division ran smoothly.
