GE15: It was worth it, says Johari Ghani

Kuala Lumpur: "It was worth it," Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani said of the sacrifices he made for the people of Titiwangsa in the past four years.

Johari won the Titiwangsa parliamentary seat with a 4,632-vote majority, garnering 25,042 votes against the Pakatan Harapan (PH) challenger Khalid Abdul Samad, who obtained 20,410 votes. The other two challengers for the seat, Dr Rosni Adam of Perikatan Nasional polled 14,518 votes and Pejuang's Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan 888 votes.

Despite losing in 14th General Election (GE14), Johari did not let up in his efforts to listen to the pulse of the constituents.

"All the sacrifices of working for the people even though I was no longer a representative of the people in the last GE-14 have paid off.

"For four years and six months (of servicing the constituency despite losing in GE14), finally they (the constituents) appreciate it," he said at the official vote tallying centre at the Dewan Bestari of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Aminuddin Baki here, tonight.

Johari thanked the constituents for trusting him to be their representative and is determined to provide the best service to them.

"I would like to thank all the residents of Titiwangsa, especially my voters. This is a gift from me to the people of Titiwangsa.
