Muhyiddin thanks PN supporters

KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today penned an emotional Facebook posting to express his gratitude to the coalition's supporters.

In his message, he also reminded the supporters that the fight was far from over.

Muhyiddin said remembering the support received from the coalition's supporters brought tears to his eyes, as he, too, "was just an ordinary human who is capable of feeling sad and disappointed, as well as shedding tears".

"The support received from all of you (supporters) throughout the campaign, and on social media (proves) that I'm not alone. With me, there are all of you who stood by me.

"This struggle is ours together, Malaysians. A pure struggle based on the determination to save the country, for the sovereignty of our religion, nation and country.

"(So) let us not be sad, as it is known that the path is a strenuous, and long road. We will not stop fighting the good fight over the challenges that come with it. Remember, that the torch of the fight against the struggle continues to burn.

"Be strong, and persevere. If we're patient, holding on tight to the nation's trust and sincere in our fights, insyaallah, there will always be a light at the end of the road.

"Tell your heart, that there is indeed tomorrow, (where) we will build a better Malaysia with every power we have, in whatever capacity we have. Remember, Malaysia belongs to all of us," he said.

Earlier today, Muhyiddin said PN would not be accepting Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's offer to join the government.

Instead, he said, the coalition would serve to carry out a check-and-balance role in the Dewan Rakyat.
