Unofficial results: BN retains Tioman state seat

ROMPIN: Barisan Nasional's Datuk Seri Johari Hussain looks set to retain the Tioman state seat in the 15th general election.

Unofficial results showed that the three-term Tioman assemblyman had obtained a 638 majority after securing 8,077 votes while Nor Idayu Hashim from Perikatan Nasional secured 7,439 votes.

Pakatan Harapan's Mohd Fadzli Mohd Ramly, who announced his decision to withdraw his candidacy and give way to Johari on Nov 29, had 791 votes.

Pejuang's Osman A. Bakar garnered 82 votes and independent candidate Sulaiman Bakar had 60 votes.

The 15th General Election for the Tioman state seat was postponed due to the death of PN candidate Md Yunus Ramli, 61, on polling day on Nov 19.
