PUTRAJAYA: Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said party leaders who sabotaged the party and candidates in the 15th General Election (GE15) will feel the heat tomorrow.
He said the matter would be finalised at the Umno Supreme Council meeting tomorrow.
Zahid, who is also the deputy prime minister, said this when asked about Khairy Jamaluddin's fate in the party.
"Wait for the (supreme council) meeting. For him (decision on Khairy) individually is not important. At the party general assembly, I said there would be a massive clean-up in the party on those who sabotaged the GE15 and those who shot themselves on the foot.
"Those who did not feel the heat (then), Insya-Allah they will tomorrow night," he said when met after the Rural Executive Councillors and Ministers Coordination Meeting (MEXCLUB) today.
When asked if the decision would be made tomorrow, Zahid invited reporters to come and see for themselves.
"I can't reveal our strategy to reporters, then it wouldn't be a strategy anymore. I should embargo the information until the time comes," he said.
It is learnt that Khairy's fate will be known at the meeting tomorrow.
The former Rembau MP had criticised party leaders and demanded that the top two party post be contested in the party elections.
