KJ: 'Unbowed, unbent, unbroken'

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin, who was sacked from Umno last night (Jan 27), took the dismissal calmly in his stride.

In an immediate but brief response on his social media channels, the former Rembau Member of Parliament (MP) informed that he had been sacked from the very party that he loved so much and was loyal to.

"Unbowed, unbent, unbroken," he announced via a Facebook post and a tweet.

Khairy and former Selangor Umno chief Tan Sri Noh Omar had their memberships revoked for breaching party discipline during the recent General Election (GE-15).

Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan however did not divulge into any details regarding the violations.

Khairy had been vocal and had called on Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to resign as party president following the disappointing and embarrassing results during GE-15 where Barisan Nasional (BN) only won 30 seat, 26 of which by candidates from Umno.

Khairy's shocking dismissal from Umno comes just two days after he turned down an offer to join Perikatan Nasional (PN), where at the time he reiterated that he would 'remain loyal as an ordinary member of Umno'.

The former Umno Youth chief's words were in response to PAS vice-president Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar who stated that PN and Pas would accept Khairy with open arms if he were to be booted out of Umno.
