Zahid to Hadi: Do not flatter yourself [NSTTV]

BAGAN DATUK: Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today criticised Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang over his claim that the Islamist party was offered to be part of the unity government.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman did not mince his words when he told Abdul Hadi to: "Jangan perasan (Do not flatter yourself)".

Zahid, who is also the Bagan Datuk member of parliament, said Pas should continue to remain in Perikatan Nasional (PN) together with Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and other parties in the opposition fold.

"I think it is better for them (Pas) to continue to remain as friends with Bersatu.

"He (Hadi) should not be full of himself by claiming that he was being offered (to be part of the unity government)," Zahid, who is also the Rural and Regional Development Minister, told reporters after attending the closing ceremony of the MYFutureJobs Career Carnival 2023 at Dewan Serbaguna Datuk Haji Abdullah Ahmad here.

Present were Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar and Perak Human Resources, Health, National Integration and Indian Community Affairs committee chairman A Sivanesan.

Abdul Hadi claimed that he was contacted by several individuals who wanted to meet him with an offer for Pas to join the unity government.

He said the offer came about after Pakatan Harapan (PH), especially PKR, realised that their position is unstable because the number of their Malay seats are not as many as Pas.
