Wan Saiful need not interfere in DAP's affairs

GEORGE TOWN: DAP has asked Tasek Gelugor member of parliament Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan not to interfere in the party's affairs, especially with regards to candidates, to contest in the upcoming state elections.

Its secretary-general Anthony Loke said it would be better for the former information chief of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) to take care of his own party instead.

"Is Wan Saiful the DAP secretary-general? I am asking if he is the DAP secretary-general to decide on our candidates?

"I feel there is no need for him to poke his nose in others' affairs. He should just be busy with his own affairs," he told newsmen here today.

Loke had earlier witnessed the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Railway Assets Corp and ThinkCity.

Loke was commenting on a viral video, uploaded by Wan Saiful of Facebook, claiming there were rumours that Bukit Mertajam member of parliament (MP) Steven Sim would contest a state seat in the upcoming state election.

Wan Saiful claimed the move was to replace incumbent Chief Minister

Chow Kon Yeow, who is said to fail to lead the state.

The state legislative assembly was dissolved on July 28 to pave the way for state election.

The Election Commission (EC) had recently set Aug 12 as state elections for Penang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.
