SHAH ALAM: Kota Baru member of Parliament Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan has been re-appointed as Pas secretary-general for the 2023-2025 term.
Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang also announced the reappointment of Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Noor as the party's election director.
Also reappointed to the same position is Pas treasurer Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad. Abdul Hadi also announced the appointment of the party's former youth chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari as the new Pas information chief.
"Pas central working committee held its meeting today, shortly after the adjournment of the Pas' 69th annual Muktamar (assembly).
"The appointments were made in accordance with Article 25(4) of the party's Constitution," Abdul Hadi said in a statement today.
It was previously reported that there was no contest for the party's top five positions, namely president, deputy president and three vice presidents since the Pas election committee did not receive any new nominations at the end of the nomination day for the party polls.
This means Abdul Hadi and Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man returned as the party president and deputy president respectively for the 2023-2025 term.
Also returning to their positions are the three Pas vice-presidents namely Datuk Idris Ahmad, Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar and Datuk Mohd Amar Abdullah.
