Anthony Loke issues warning to DAP members who fail to meet KPI

IPOH: DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke today warned the elected party members who failed to meet the party's key performance indicator (KPI) that they would be replaced.

"When we are given such a big mandate, the expectations from the people are also very high.

"As such, all DAP leaders and members must continue to work hard and most importantly, we must remind ourselves to always serve the people," he said in his opening speech at the 22nd Perak DAP Convention at Kinta Riverfront Hotel here, today.

Also present were Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming, Perak Umno deputy chairman Datuk Azian Osman, Perak Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa and Perak PKR chairman Chang Lih Kang.

Loke said that DAP had representatives at all levels including federal, state and local authorities.

All of them, he said, must play a vital role in ensuring that the government's policies at all levels operate efficiently and effectively, thereby benefiting the people.

"You have been entrusted, given the opportunity to be a candidate for DAP.

"We must do the best we can, never embarrass this party by not fulfilling our responsibilities as a candidate and representative of the people," he said.

Loke said that DAP's lineup had the potential to be portrayed as representative of the people.

In Perak, for instance, in addition to the state assemblymen, there were 99 local councillors and more than 100 village heads, he said.

"This is also motivational for the local councillor. I do not encourage state assemblymen to fight with local councillors but the cooperation between these two is crucial. Your time will come.

"Every election there are representatives who want to retire or resign, there will be an opportunity for these new faces (to become candidates).

"Should there be any elected representatives who do not meet the party's KPI, of course, there are many suitable ones that can replace them.

"In Perak, I am not worried because I know we have a lot of substitutes. We have 99 local councils and I would like to remind all state assemblymen here that they could be replaced at any time," he said.
