Nga: Opposition needs to be constructive, enough with govt transition talk

TELUK INTAN: The opposition needs to play its role constructively and stop harping on sentiments of government transition, DAP vice chairman Nga Kor Ming said.

He said he was disappointed that Perikatan Nasional (PN) had failed to provide positive input as an opposition, apart from looking for trivial issues and politicising all merits done by the government.

"Whatever it is, they are trying to find a stone in an egg. I followed their debates throughout the budget and there have been no constructive ideas that can be used by the government as alternative.

"I feel so upset with the quality of our opposition today because they are still living in their imagination.

"What they always want is to see the current government fall, they are not praying for the country's prosperity and for the people to live in peace and harmony," he said.

Nga, who is also the Local Government Development Minister, said this in a Press conference after visiting SJK(T) Sithambaram Pillay here, today.

The Teluk Intan member of parliament was commenting on Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin's comment that the majority of Malaysians wanted PN to take control of the federal government.

The PN secretary-general said this was referring to comments on social media pointing out that many Malaysians have expressed dissatisfaction with the current unity government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Nga also reminded opposition leaders that the country had just been freed from political unrest and that what was more important for the government was to continue giving the best services to the people.

"If the opposition wants to play politics, wait for the 16th General Election. We will compete that time but not now," he added.
