Hajiji to deliver inaugural policy speech during Gagasan Rakyat AGM on Monday

KOTA KINABALU: Gagasan Rakyat Sabah will be holding its inaugural annual general assembly at the Sabah International Convention Centre on Monday.

The event which will see 3,000 representatives and observers from 74 divisions throughout Sabah and Labuan.

The main event will start at 2pm and conclude at 6pm. Earlier, there will be the party wings' sessions, namely the Women's Movement, Youth Movement, and Beliawanis from 8am to noon.

"The inaugural policy speech by Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, the party president, is eagerly anticipated by party members.

"The address and the vision to be conveyed by the president will serve as a guide and compass in navigating the challenges in the political arena, especially in Sabah," said Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS) information chief, Datuk Nizam Titingan in a statement.

Nizam added that the people's response and acceptance of Gagasan Rakyat's mission, "Our Home, We Care," will continue to be celebrated and strengthened as the foundation of the struggle because it resonates deeply with the people.

He said Gagasan Rakyat will continue to strengthen the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) with other component parties of GRS to remain the choice of the Sabah people in the upcoming state elections.

"It is hoped that the formulation of this Annual General Assembly will inject spirit at all levels as an effort to strengthen the party and make Gagasan Rakyat the voice of the people of Sabah.

"The achievements and success of the united GRS-PH Plus government led by Hajiji as the Chief Minister are benchmarks for Gagasan Rakyat in gaining the support of the Sabah people.

"The presence of Gagasan Rakyat alongside GRS is a fitting response to the desires of the Sabah people who want a local party to represent them in the national political arena."
