'The Hulu Kinta assemblyman should not practice cheap politics'

IPOH: Perak PKR vice-chairman Muhamad Arafat Varisai Mahamad has been challenged to reveal the names of three opposition assemblymen who voiced their support for the state government.

Perak Perikatan Nasional (PN) secretary Datuk Zainol Fadzi Paharudin said none of the opposition assemblymen supported the state government under the leadership of Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.

Zainol Fadzi described the allegation made by Arafat, who is Hulu Kinta assemblyman, was political sensationalism.

"The Hulu Kinta assemblyman should not practice cheap politics. Such actions are out of date and it is not appropriate for a political party leader to issue such a statement.

"The Hulu Kinta assemblyman has been advised to be not too fond of making cheap provocations because I conducted an investigation and asked all Perak PN assemblymen regarding his allegations," he said in a statement today.

Zainol Fadzi said Arafat was desperate and trying to divert the people's attention to the state budget debate, and this happens at every state legislative assembly sitting session.

"As such, the Perak PN is challenging the Hulu Kinta assemblyman to reveal the name of the PN assemblymen as he claimed. Or was he was just daydreaming?

"Let's not forget his actions before when he brought a chicken during the previous state assembly sitting just to get the attention of netizens. That is his attitude so he will not be forgotten.

"He needs to realise all the Perak PN assemblymen in the debate yesterday and today support the 2024 state budget," he said.

Yesterday, Arafat claimed that two of the assemblymen in question had met him and the meeting took place here last month and this month.

He had said the reason given by these opposition assemblymen was that they were confident in the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at the federal-level and Saarani at the state-level.

He further explained that the opposition assemblymen were happy to see political stability in Perak.
