'Dubai Move': Lipis Member of Parliament to take legal action against YouTube account owner

LIPIS: The Lipis Member of Parliament has criticised a video clip uploaded to a YouTube account owned by Halim Romli, alleging that the parliamentarian is in Dubai in an attempt to meet the King to bring down the unity government.

Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Mohamad, who is also Lipis Umno division chief said the video clip also mentioned his name as one of those involved in the 'Dubai Move.'

"I characterise this action as a motivated and deliberately fabricated malicious accusation to create controversy and irresponsibly cause unrest among the Malaysian people.

"In the last few weeks, I have been in Malaysia, specifically in this parliamentary area, to fulfill programs and assist the local community," he said.

He said this after filing a police report at the Lipis District Police Headquarters accompanied by about 100 Umno Lipis leaders and supporters today.

Rahman, who is also the deputy minister of human resources, said that despite the end of the year, he is still ready to serve the community and remains vigilant in the Lipis area, fearing floods.

"Baseless accusations and malicious slander against leaders of the Barisan Nasional should not occur when the unity government now has a 2/3 majority and is a strong and stable government.

"Such accusations are very dangerous because this situation can disrupt economic stability and impact foreign investment, thereby affecting job opportunities, especially for young people," he said.

To ensure that such incidents do not recur and to clear his name, legal action will be taken against the owner of Halim Romli Channel.
