Sanusi says it was a 'Chow Kit Move' as there was a KL meeting; 'Dubai Move' is a decoy [NSTTV]

ALOR STAR: Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has confirmed that there is a move by Perikatan Nasional (PN) to topple the Madani government through democratic process that is permitted by the Federal Constitution.

The Kedah Menteri Besar said the move was engineered based on loopholes in the Anti-hopping law made used by the Madani government to woo the support of five members of Parliament (MPs) from PN.

"I think whatever (move) that is permitted by the Constitution, (it) should be allowed to take place. Anything that is unconstitutional should not take place.

"If they (the Madani government) regarded the support from the five MPs (from PN) as something Constitutional based on democratic principle, any move in return should be regarded as the same (being Constitutional).

"If they can lure five MPs but we are capable of luring (support of) 10 MPs, why should they be angry. That is a normal process in democracy and permitted by the Constitution," he told a press conference after chairing the state executive council meeting at Wisma Darul Aman here today.

Sanusi was responding to Community Communications Department deputy director (community communications) Datuk Ismail Yusop's claims that the opposition MPs were plotting a 'Dubai Move' to bring down the unity government.

He was reported as saying that following a visit to Dubai by the MPs, "agents" were actively trying to convince people that by early 2024, the Madani government would collapse.

Prior to that, messages about a closed-door meeting involving PN MPs and two BN MPs in Dubai went viral on social media but PN has since rubbished the claims.

Commenting further, Sanusi who is also PN election director, said the loophole in the Anti-hopping law was paved by the unity government and PN was merely taking the same route.

"I don't think it is a Dubai Move but just a Chow Kit Move since the discussions were held in Kuala Lumpur. I believe the Dubai Move is merely a dummy (decoy) since some people were just holidaying in Dubai. A lot of people go to Dubai."

Sanusi further claimed that he has information that the Madani government would collapse by this year while stressing that it could in fact happen by this month.

"This (unity) government will not last for five years. The way I see things, it will happen by this year, if possible by this month," he said.

Sanusi added that the people are supporting the move to topple the unity government.

"Malaysian are living under pressure and they can't take it anymore. When we told them about the move, nobody objected. Those who are worried are those who are losing power.

"The people have seen that the episode of 22 months (Pakatan Harapan government in 2018) is repeating again, almost every day such as interference in the Islamic religious affairs, in matters that should not been intervened, the pressure against those who are in opposing political side.

"All these are happening even more worse that the 22 months. Hence, if there is change in the government, the people will applaud, except for the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister and several ministers who are losing power," he said.
