Muhyiddin rubbishes ex-Selangor Bersatu chief's 'cartel' claims

PUTRAJAYA: Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has rubbished Selat Kelang assemblyman, Datuk Abdul Rashid Asari's claim that Selangor Bersatu is being controlled by a "cartel".

"There is no cartel, Bersatu follows its constitution. There are rules that everyone must follow," Muhyiddin said in his response to Abdul Rashid's recent claim.

Previously, Abdul Rashid, the former Selangor Bersatu chief claimed a "cartel" within the party's state chapter led to his decision to back Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari in the state assembly.

"Where is the cartel? Don't make excuses for (your) mistakes," Muhyiddin told reporters after submitting documents to the Registrar of Societies.

Muhyiddin said it was irresponsible of Abdul Rashid to make claims against the party.

Abdul Rashid, who pledged support for Amirudin last week, has come under fire from Bersatu leaders, with information chief Datuk Razali Idris even calling him a traitor.

Earlier, Muhyiddin submitted documents related to Bersatu's proposed amendments to the party's constitution.
