MyRumah property showcase records RM3m in sales

THE New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd’s (NSTP) MyRumah Property Showcase 2017 in Kedah has surpassed its sales target of RM3 million.

NSTP regional advertisement head S. Linggaraj said besides meeting the projected sales target, more deals were expected to be closed during the follow-up meetings between potential buyers and exhibitors.

“The showcase has attracted many keen buyers, but some of them did not bring the documents required to process their loan applications.

“Those interested have set appointments with the respective exhibitors. So, we are expecting more sales to follow even after the showcase ends today (yesterday).

“We are glad to note that the exhibitors are satisfied with the response they got from potential buyers, who were looking for suitable property to fit in their budget and preferences.”

He said the deals closed during the showcase were properties priced between RM180,000 and RM498,000, which showed there was high demand for affordable homes.

Linggaraj said SPNB Aspirasi Sdn Bhd (SPNB Aspirasi) recorded the highest sales throughout the showcase.

“The Taman Permai Utama project developed by SPNB Aspirasi comprising single-storey houses sold at a competitive price of RM180,000 recorded the highest sale with five units sold,” he said.

He added that other sales were done by Oriental Interest Group, Irama Jaya Group and Sunsuria Bhd.

The Kedah leg was the third MyRumah showcase this year, after Kuala Lumpur and Johor, which recorded a total of RM30 million in sales.

Linggaraj said the sales were satisfactory given that it was held for the first time in Kedah, proving the potential of the state’s property market.

The showcase had drawn the participation of nine prominent developers; Aman Setia Group, Belleview Group, Bina Darulaman Bhd, Irama Jaya Group, Oriental Interest Group, OSK Property Group, Paramount Properties, Sunsuria Bhd and SPNB Aspirasi Sdn Bhd.

The non-developers participating were e-hailing services provider Grab, Lepro, National Higher Education Fund Corporation, Amanah Raya, Cuckoo and LG.

Besides the property showcase, 21 renowned speakers and real estate experts had shared their expertise on various issues related to property and housing loan facilities.
