Yesterday,the national youth team were ousted from the Asian Junior Mixed Team Championship following defeats to Indonesia and Japan in Suzhou, China.
Malaysia,the bronze medallists in last year’s edition in Jakarta, were thrashed 5-0 by Indonesia in the opening Group A tie.
In the second tie, Japan, the silver medallists last year, edged the national youth team 3-2.
With the score tied at 2-2, Japan’s Tsubasa Kawamura-Hinata Suzuki sealed the winning point by edging Gan Jing Err-Roy King Yap 17-21, 21-19, 21-14 for the winning point.
