Fadhil and Co shine at Asian Cycling Championships

KUALA LUMPUR: The national track cyclists kicked off their Asian Cycling Championships (ACC) campaign by capturing a gold and two silver medals in New Delhi on Wednesday.

Fadhil Zonis, Umar Hasbullah, and Ridwan Sahrom clocked 44.607s, claiming the men's elite team sprint silver at the Indira Gandhi Velodrome. Japan took the gold in 44.367, while China settled for the bronze.

The women's team of Anis Amira Rosidi, Nurul Izzah Izzati Mohd Asri and Nurul Aliana Syafika Azizan also showed improvement, winning the elite sprint silver medal.

The trio clocked 51.793, finishing behind China (48.178). India picked up the bronze medal.

Earlier, Yusof Hafizi Shaharuddin, Hafiz Jamali and Zuhairie Ahmad Tarmizi won the mixed para team sprint gold medal, clocking 52.284 in the final to beat India (1:02.661). Saudi Arabia settled for the bronze.
