FMLLP will still go after the ten teams

JOHOR BARU: Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) will still dock points from 10 teams that failed to complete their Malaysia League registration this season.

Its chairman Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, however, said that FMLLP will delay doing so until the new player registration window for next season, which will be at the end of the year.

He added that the teams have also been given 14 days starting from yesterday to file an appeal for a reduced sanction.

"We are not immediately deducting their points. We will be giving them a chance to correct what they need to," said Tunku Ismail, during a press conference after the FMLLP board of directors meeting yesterday.

"But if there are no changes, we will deduct them."

FMLLP disclosed that the teams will be under observation until the next player registration window next season. Their points will be automatically deducted should they commit any offences such as not paying players' salary during the period.

The number of points that could be deducted will only be known today once the teams receive their official letters on the matter.

FMLLP had on Feb 19 confirmed that four Super League teams - Kelantan, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and PKNS FC – and six Premier League teams – Sarawak, Penang, Kuantan FA, Police, MIFA and UKM FC - had not completed or had submitted their registrations after the Feb 3 deadline.

Meanwhile, Tunku Ismail also confirmed that the 'feeder' team name used for Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) and JDT II as well as Terengganu FC (TFC) and TFC II will be changed to 'reserve' team.

"At the moment only two teams practise the reserve team concept," added Tunku Ismail.

"During the meeting we had also agreed on the terms of sponsorship which will be brought in soon, it is more focused on improving facilities especially at the grassroots level."
