Danny will just have to play

IPOH: Whether he likes it or not, Chadian striker Karl Max Danny will be part of Perak SEDC’s first-eleven when they take on mighty Pahang in their Malaysia Cup Group D match away in Kuantan tomorrow (Saturday).

The presence on the field of the 31 year old player is important to Perak SEDC coach Abu Bakar Fadzim in efforts to put up as much of a fight as possible against the Group D leaders.

Danny, who has just recovered from an ankle injury, was given a run out as a substitute for the final 20 minutes during the match against Pahang at the Batu Kawan Stadium last week.

"It looked like he was still struggling even a week after the cast came off, but since we are out of options and have no other choice, we will field Danny against Pahang tomorrow night,” said Abu Bakar.

Knowing full well how dangerous Pahang are, Abu Bakar admits that both he and his charges have a daunting task against Dollah Salleh’s side who beat them 1-0 during last Saturday’s match no thanks to a silly mistake.

"The players tried their best and gave it their all, but a lapse in concentration by our defense in not getting the ball out of the danger zone as quickly as possible was capitalised on by Matthew Davies who made no mistake and scored to punish us,” lamented Abu Bakar.

Abu Bakar is hoping that his players will be on their toes and even more focused this time round so that they do not make any more sill mistakes that will cost them dearly.
