Four Kedah players to train at Premier League side Cardiff

ALOR SETAR: The Kedah FA (KFA) revealed on Saturday that four President’s Cup players and a coach will head to Cardiff City for a one-month training stint as part of their development partnership with the Premier League team.

Those selected are Asri Mohamad, Fadzrul Danel, Suhaimi Saad and Aminuddin Abu Bakar along with coach Fauzi Nan.

The announcement was made during a dinner reception here to celebrate Kedah’s success in finishing runners-up at the recent Malaysia Games in Perak.

The partnership between Kedah and Cardiff was penned in 2015. Coach Victor Andrag and four players — Loqman Hakim, Muhammad Akhyar, Osman Yusof and Shazuan Hazani – were sent to Cardiff for five weeks that year.

Aside from Cardiff, KFA also have a partnership with A-League’s Perth Glory (since 2014).
