MFL telling KL City and Kedah to pay up

KUALA LUMPUR: Before the 2024-2025 M-League season kicks off in May, the Malaysian Football League (MFL) is chasing clubs to settle salaries owing to players.

Should the problem persist, MFL will take punitive action.

"Negri Sembilan have settled (their salary arrears) while KL City and Kedah are still in progress. We hope they can sort it out as soon as possible," said MFL chief executive officer Datuk Stuart Ramalingam.

In the past, errant clubs like Melaka United, Sarawak United and Perak were punished with points deductions before the start of the season.

This season, Kelantan failed to secure a national licence due to unpaid wages.
