Perak crown Razak Cup champions

KUALA LUMPUR: Perak retained their Razak Cup Division One title when they defeated Terengganu 3-1 on penalty shootout following a 2-2 draw in regulation time at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil on Saturday.

Terengganu took the lead in the 14th minute through Ameer Aiman Saberi off a field attempt before Shazrul Imran Nazli’s scored off a penalty corner for Perak seconds later.

The east coast side regained their lead through Syamiru Aiman Bidin in the 22nd minute.

However, Perak continued to push forward and were rewarded when Azrai Aizad Abu Kamal equalised in the 47th minute to force a shootout.

In the Division Two final, Pahang defeated Police 2-1 courtesy of goals by Hafiz Zainul (40th) and Nazrey Din (51st).

Police responded through Haizzat Noor Azmi (53rd).

"We have been waiting for this moment for a long time. Finally our players have done it,” said Pahang coach Izwan Suhari Selamat.

RESULTS

Division One: Perak 2 Terengganu 2 (Perak won 3-1 on penalty shootout).

Division Two: Police 1 Pahang 2.

Women: Selangor 1 Kuala Lumpur 2.
